Probably a simple solution, but driving me nutz!

    Hi,

Sorry for attachment placement error, in original post.

    I'm using Access 2010 with Windows 7 64bit.

    I've got a table with 3 columns..

    "Serial Number" "Location" "Pass/Fail"

I've been trying to build a Parameter Query using Combo-Boxes (CB) for "Area" and "Pass/Fail".

"Location" CB has entries for "Area 1" and "Area 2".

"Pass/Fail CB has entries for "Pass" and "Fail"

What I'd like to do, is find who in Area 1 Failed, by selecting "Area 1" and "Failed"...easy

But also I'd like to find who in both "Area 1" and "Area 2" had "Failed", by leaving the Area CB Blank....all I get is no replies.

Would really appreciate help s its holding back the development of the remainder of the project.

I've attached a basic DB file.

    Attachment 11254

    Thanks in advance

    Nigel

We can't all read v2010 DBs; you reach a wider audience by saving as an earlier version or posting explicit examples.

    However ...

I would normally do this through a few lines of VBA but I guess you are probably specifying the form controls directly in the query design grid. I was interested to see if I could devise such a solution for you. You will have to use your own names (blue highlight) but in the Criteria row of the query design grid, underneath your Location, enter the following:

    Like Nz([Forms]![MyForm]![cboArea], *)

Works for me and should work for you.
