Moving database to new computer(Win XP Pro, Access 2003), data has become read only.

Moving to new computer, both under Win XP pro, Access 2003. New computer is MacBook Air running Parallels. Transferred Access database via an external hard drive. Now the data shows up as Read Only. Is there a procedure to run down the cause and make the data accessable? Thanks

You are working with the db on the hard drive? Have you Googled the issue?

How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Thank you. No, I was unaware of the NTFS issue with Mac OS X. DB comes up Read Only on the External hard drive but also the data I transferred from the External drive to the MB Air.
Let me back track some. When I initially brought the DB over, it was accessible. But later after I tried to set up a Windows Files and settings transfer via our WiFi, which I failed to get to work (never done it before, probably misunderstood, screwed up some settings), and brought over the current DB via same External HD, the Read Only problems occurred. The original computer (lenovo T500) reads and writes fine on the External HD. Any words of wisdom?
