    Out Damn Detail, Out I Say

    I have a report that has 3 subreports. (From a form that has same 3)
    Now after playing about to get these 3 to work in separate groups and detail now I find the only way to get them working without multiple records is in the Report Footer. Great but in printing (print view) the Detail takes up 3/4 page. I cannot get rid of the detail.
    Tried, in any and all combinations
    Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
    Me.Detail.Visible = False
    End Sub also tried the On Print Event same

    Properties Can Grow No, Can Shrink Yes, Auto Height, Display when, Keep Together, Visible no

    Report View is marvelous, Print preview less so

    Why not hide it in design view and save?

    My younger daughter just moved to NZ; looking forward to visiting!

    been away from the PC all day. Saw your reply on my phone and Ive been thinking is there a property "Hide" that I don't know about?. No I can't find it, do you mean Page Footer bar all the way up so there is no detail showing? That is what I have but still I have a huge blank midsection on my page and I cannot fit the subreports at the footer. Maybe there is a way to put the subreports in group headers but I cannot get it to work I end up with the subrpt presenting as many times as there are records in it.

    anyway on a happier note we like it here the odd earthquake and it hasn't rained for 6 weeks, still soon well be saying it hasn't stopped raining for 6 weeks

    The detail section has the Visible property that you were trying to set in code. I was simply suggesting setting it in design view.

    They are in Wellington, looking for a home to buy or at least rent. I hope to get down there in the next few months.
