    Expand field horizontally

Okay, this may be a fairly remedial question, but is there a way to expand the contents of a field horizontally? Some entries in the database column sometimes exceed the amount of space that can be illustrated on the report.

I know you can do it vertically with the Can Grow property, but is there a way to do it horizontally? Using Access 2003

    Thanks for all your help

This is a common question that can be answered in various ways, firstly if the position of the control is to the left of another control and if the column did resize it would overlap the field to the right of it.

The only way it would work cosmetically is to set the width of the control to max allowable width in the space available.
