    Access 2007 Runtime Compiler

I have NO experience with this so here is my question(s). If I install this, will it mess up anything on my 2010 installation? I have 2010 64 bit installed. What if any considerations do I need to know about ahead of time? Anyone done this and if so any problems? Did you deploy it and was there any problems? How do you go about updating the db once it is compiled for the user?

Never heard of it; what does it do? All I ever do is create an mde/accde for my runtime users.

It compiles the code and installs so users don't have to have access installed, plus you can use some options such as attaching a txt file or icon to your db,etc... Basically like a mde only with bells and whistles plus they dont have to have a copy of access to run it.

Do you have a link? To the best of my knowledge, no such program exists. There is a runtime version of Access, but it is still Access.

That's just the runtime version of Access. It's fine to download, but it doesn't do what you think it does. It's a free version of Access that doesn't have design capability.

You mean I can't edit the db afterwards?

The typical setup would be you (the developer) having the full version of Access on your computer. Users would have the runtime version on theirs (note you've mixed versions there; if you have 2010 you likely want users to have 2010 as well). They would not be able to edit the db, you still would. Typically you would distribute an mde/accde to them, keeping the original mdb/accdb to make changes to.

Makes sense. I have 2002, 97 and 2010. Somewhere I even have 2.0 In anticipation I have created a database to keep track of all of this as well as my estimate db.

    Thanks,
