    Large Quantity Of Data

    Hi,

    I have what Access appears to think is a large amount of data (c. 56,000 lines) and doesn't seem to respond very well... I've noticed something;

    1) I've tried creating a graph (in a report), but when I go to the 'Report View' it doesn't pull away from the example it provides in the 'Design View' which obviously isn't what I want to see. I tried exporting to a PDF and the report is blank... The data definitely is there, and works, as I had the graph working briefly in 'Report View'... Is there a limit to how many lines Access will work with or something?

    56,000 lines is not a great deal. I have db with 60,000+ records table. Access is limited by file size - 2gb, not number of records.

    Open the report in Layout view, save, close, open in Design view, should now see your design.

    I print and export (DoCmd.OutputTo) reports with graphs to PDF and both methods work fine.

    I have tried this but it still doesn't work... I've now been able to get one Graph working but not the second. One counts the amount of mailboxes per size, and the other is suppose to count Size by Business Unit, but just wont move off the example graph (East, West and North)..

    I split them out into two separate reports, and the working one takes about 3 minutes to run... the one that isn't working runs almost instantly but obviously doesn't do anything...

    any ideas?

    Open the report in Print Preview, save, immediately switch to Report View, save, immediately switch to Layout View, save. Close. Open in Design View. Do you see your chart design now? Seems the Layout then save usually works, but I have found not always so I go through the above, even in different sequences. Never figured out which is certain to work but eventually I get it to show in Design view. If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.
