Data update problems with multi-user front end/back end db

I have a database that has been split using the splitting wizard. The BE resides on a network server and there are two copies of the FE on different computers connected to the network. The problem is that when one user edits or adds any data the other does not see the changes until closing the database and reopening.

Typically you'd need to requery a form to have it see data that had been added or edited since it was opened.

I've closed and reopened the forms which I'm pretty sure requeries but still no changes are seen until closing and reopening the db.

You're sure the other user has committed the changes at the time? I've never heard of having to close/open the db to see changes to a back end.

The other user has closed the form that was used to edit the record if that'a what you mean by committed.
