In the Northwind sample database (available here), I noticed that they are using split forms where it looks like they have pulled the splitter bar all the way up to the top of the form, so that all you can see is the form header with various controls, and then the datasheet portion of the split form. I am trying to implement something similar in my database and had some questions about how they did this:
1) In the Northwind DB, when you switch to layout view and pull down the splitter bar, somehow it looks like they have removed or hidden the fields that normally display on the top half of the split form. When I try to recreate this type of split form in my database, if I remove the fields from the top of the form they will also be removed from the datasheet portion. This is not really important since the fields are hidden/covered by the datasheet when it is pulled all the way up, but I am just curious as to how they did it.
2) When I create a split form in my database, there is a small amount of white space above the splitter bar that I cannot seem to get rid of. When I pull the splitter bar up so that it sits right below the form header (this is what they are doing in the Northwind database), this white space overlaps my header. In the Northwind database somehow this white space does not exist above the splitter bar.
Example of Northwind split form:
