Help to a new Access user!!

Hey I am pretty new in Access 2010 (and this forum) I would like to ask if anyone can help me with this thing a have been thinking about: In Access how do you find a specific period from ex. 1997-2002 I guess it would be in query, under criterias but how would you write it? btw sorry for my bad english!! Thanks for your time :-)

You could use greater than and less than in the criteria. Is this field formatted as a number, text or date? That will have a bit of an impact on how you structure the criteria.
