Auto populate info into Forms using barcode scanner

    Hello,

So I am a total nub when it comes to access. I dont even know if I in the correct area in access, either forms or programming. This is basically what I am currently doing and what I want to do. Right now I am doing asset inventory of all PC's, and am manually inputting data in an Excel sheet. All asset tags have been inventoried along with all the users information. I imported all info into access and created my forms.

Now here is what I want to do. I want to be able to scan each barcode on the PC and have that auto populate all the info given from my tables. I just do not know where to begin. Or if its even possible. Thanks for looking and hopefully I can find some kind of answer.

It is possible. Scanner is another input device like a keyboard. Basically, you have cursor in the field you want to populate then scan. http://www.ehow.com/how_6887186_read...databases.html
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
