Can I run SharePoint under Windows 8?

I have a home network consisting of 7 computers used by 3 people. I would like some way to allow everyone to access the Access 2010 database. I was reading M$ SharePoint yesterday and i looks like it's only supported on Windows 2000/2010 Servers. Any way to get it to run on my Windows 8 Pro computer?

putting an Access file onto sharepoint doesn't give everyone the Access license. so while they could get the file, they still couldn't use it.

on the otherhand if everyone has the Access license - you don't need sharepoint - you can just use plain old file sharing.

sharepoint is designed to control availability of files in the corporate environment (plus alot more...)
