    Populating Fields

    I have a drop down with numerous institution in it which comes from a table. Also on the same table I have the contact name and address,phone,fax,email. What I would like to do it pick a name from the drop down and have t[IMG]file:///M:/Windows_Data/Desktop/Help.jpg[/IMG]he rest of the fields populate automatically..



    Please if anybody can help. If this don't work database will be a waste of time..

    Use the ComboBox wizard and select option 3. Your form should have this table/query as its RecordSource.

    Stupid Question I know but

    Where do I do this, on the form or in the table.. I have not used Combo Wizard Before..

    Sorry Again

    I've not got an option 3. I'm right in thinking this is the button for the combo wizard yes.. I am using 2007

    What do I have to do to get a record source, sorry to be a pain..

    Open the Properties sheet for the form and go to the data tab and use the drop down on the RecordSource to select one.

    By doing this it break the rest of my fields..

    Yes my main table, called tblDetails. Also other tables on tabs.

    So the picture you showed in post #1 was a SubForm on a tab?

    Yes, I have Four main tables and this drop down is more of a reference to safe time copying and pasting all the time..

    You need to open the SubForm directly in order to put a ComboBox on the form with the wizard.

    Sorry for leaving this for so long. It drove me mental and other things came along.

    I have had this working on it's own standalone form but when I put it into my main form as a subform it breaks. the dropdown works but the fields do not populate.


    HELP
