    Hello,

I am by no means an expert with MS Access and am having trouble securing some information in my database. I have built a database that houses daily records in a water treatment plant. This is done through forms. Each area of the plant has different forms that need to be filled in, and a new record is created about every 4 hours. At the end of each shift (every 12hours) I would like the previous records to be read only, so that operators cannot go in and change data. So essentially every 12 hours I would like the database to 'lock' down all entered data so that only new data can be entered.

Is there a way to do this????

    Thanks.

Not with Access. Only thing you can do is filter out older records. Base form on a query with filter parameter or set form for entry of new records only. Set the form DataEntry property to Yes and existing records will not display.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
