    report detail duplication

i have created a form with a datasheet subfom with a 1 to m relationship. i believe i set this right from the sample database here as well as in other sites. My problem is in the reports, how come that everytime i add a new data in a data sheet subform, in my reports my details get repeated in every new euipment?

Here's what i want in the report:

    item item Description qty category
    1 xray 1 medical
    2 ct scan 1 medical
    3 chair 2 non medical

Sadly, this is the outcome in my report:

    item item Description qty category
    1 xray 1 medical

    item item Description qty category
    2 ct scan 1 medical

    item item Description qty category
    3 chair 2 non medical

How can i resolve this? i search in google as well in yahoo, but with no luck ( i guess my searching skills sucks ). sorry for asking so many noob question , cause im near in my project completion.

    thank you in advance

From what you say it appears that the labels are in the woring section of the report. Move them up a level of make them invisible.

thank you very much for your reply.

there are three sections in report, the page header, footer and the detail. Moving them up means put them in the header? also about making them invisible, you mean i have to hide those details?

Is it your captions that are repeating, I think so. If you delete the control labels from the detail section and place them in the page header section then they will only appear once on the page. If you want them to repeat after each group then move them into the group header.

ok now i know what it is called .

i see what you mean and tried it before and it will work only if i have to produce a medical report but, is there a way that the caption wont appear in case i want them in detail section?

actually this medical report that im working on is in the 3rd section of my full report. i have 3 categories in my report, first is architectural, electrical and lastly the medical, i have them all in one query to produce them in one report. Unfortunately, im having problem in my last category(medical report) becuz on the form of "medical" i made a subform which contains ITEM NO, ITEM DECRIPTION, QTY AND CATEGORY, and when i tried to put it on my last of the report in a page detail , as u said earlier my caption get duplicate.

    Good day
