Display quantity on hand (was Generating Reports)

    Hi,

I am a relative novice when it comes to access and have got stuck on a particular issue.

I want to create a report that shows me the quantity of products I have in stock, however the only place in my database that holds this information is in the form of a text box. Basically speaking I have a table with all my products in, and a subform with the ordered, received, sold, shrinkage information in it. At the top of the subform there is a small text box that caluclates the stock held by summing all 4 items in the subform.

Is there any way of using this value on a report that I can print?

    any help gratefully appreciated

    Alan

What I've done in inventory applications is create a view (query) that calculates the quantity on hand by product for every product. That lets me join to it in a query for a report, look up a value for a form, etc.
