Question Single backend database with several front ends?

    Hello all.

Is it possible to have a single backend database with several front ends?

I need to have different user levels on my database

    1. SalesRep
    2. CSRep
    3. Administrative/Financial

I plan to give them all the front end executables, and to have a single backend for all the data on a secured server. Is this possible with access 2007?

I run a small department, were less than 10 people, but Im trying to design this database for the future.

    Any sugestions are most welcome!

Yes it's possible, in fact you could do it all through the same front end but you'd have to write a bunch of security code (or you could do it through workgroups but I have no experience with it).

Just be extremely cautious with your updates, if all three versions of the database have the same form, but the form is displaying different data based on the version of the database, you are going to have to perform updates on ALL THREE front ends if you add a button with a certain functionality, that's really the only drawback to having multiple front ends.
