Do you think User Level Security has been applied to that mdb?

I am not sure if user level security was applied to the mdb, I am guessing it was. I have an User Id and password that I can try using, but I don't know how to enter them.

    Thanks.

I have acXP so I'm not certain it is the same but here goes. Open Access by itself. Then Tools>Security>Workgroup Administrator. That should show you what MDW file you are joined with. Usually System.mdw where Access is located. You need to remember this so you can set it back when you are done. You should then be able to press the "Join" and browse for another MDW file. If you post the MDW file I can PM you with the users and passwords in it.

I would think if ULS were applied that the mdb would ask for a user name and password.

Maybe your problem is that that one table is corrupt.

Thanks for all your help! I learned a little more about MS-Access. Looks like the problem is some of the items in the MS-2000 database are protected and I don't have permission to access them. I originally thought the problem was with opening it in MS-2007.

Please mark this question as resolved. If I need any additional help I will open a new thread.

    Thanks again.

Hmm...so you can protect just *some* objects in ac2K? Interesting. I see you found the Solved thread tool, good.

I have an Access .MDB file that was created by a co-worker who is no longer at our department. I believe it was created with MS-Access 2003. I cannot open the .MDB file with MS-Access 2003 It prompts for a user id or password. Which no one around knows. Any ideas to resolving this issue.

Do you get the same results when opening while holding down a <SHIFT> key? Can you create a new db and import everything from the old db?
