    ".MDB" doesn't open

    Hi there!

So..i have an Access database that contains linked tables and VB codes.I was using the access, when suddenly it stopped working,so i tried to save it,but i was forced to close all the aplication..The problem is that in the first time I reopened the project,it asked me to repair..so I did..then...nothing else happened. Now when I try to open the ".mdb" the access is unable to load it..and there is no error message..the screen just open and the project doesn't load like there was nothing there.

I dont know if the ".mdb" is corrupted or not...but I cant lose that project..there is too much data there...

    PLEASE...any advice?

    Two things to try:

    1) In the folder where your mdb is located, look for a file with the same name but with a ".ldb" extension. While Access is closed, delete this file.

    2) Open the TASK MANAGER. Click on the PROCESSES tab. Look for a process named MSACCESS.EXE End that process. (Or you can restart the computer)

    Try and open your mdb.

    Questions...
Firstly, is the file the backend (containing the tables) or frontend (containing the tables, queries, forms and reports etc)?
Secondly, are you using this on a network or another multi user environment?

    Advice
    Firstly I would look at
    http://allenbrowne.com/ser-47.html which also links http://www.everythingaccess.com/tuto...n-Repair-Guide

Then having had a look at actually recovering and possible other problems you may run into on the road to recovery, first make a copy of the file. Then try making a new (blank) access mdb and import the objects in.

If that fails then try jetcomp from the everything access link.

It seems to me that mdb file got corrupted. As you have already tried compact & repair utility then I will recommended you to try access database recovery software which you can easily search on Google. Check it out from here: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=access+database+recovery+software

I would like to suggest first check the preview of repairable objects in demo version. Kindly update me if you have found any problem.

I have read your issue. It is one of the common issues in MS Access database. Well I can give you two suggestions: first try to open that .mdb file in some other MS Access database program. May be there is a problem with your MS Access program. I have myself faced this type of situation. If still no luck is there for you then you must look for this second one: third party software. Just try to fix your corrupt .mdb file by using this: http://www.sysinfotools.com/recovery...-software.html
As you said that there is no error message appears when you open your database. All what happens the page doesn't load as nothing inside there in the .mdb file. Then why don't you use its demo version first. Use it and see the preview of recovered database file.
    Hope it'll be helpful.
    Stay blessed. Bye
