I just used the Report Wizard to create a new Label report on 5160 labels and it comes out with 10 rows. Have you tried creating the report again with the Wizard? It could simply be *my* printer.

I have a DeskJet 610 and switch the report to it and lost the last row. It is now 3 columns by 9 rows. We're on to something here.

In Page Setup I changed the bottom margin to .2 and did a preview and had 10 rows again. I looked at Page Setup again and the bottom margin had been changed to .459. Looked at preview again and I still have 10 rows. Can you do the same thing? When the bottom margin is the .5 default I drop back to 9 rows.

OK...I lied. The printer got switched again. When I make sure it is the 610 DeskJet it will not let me change the bottom margin lower than .626. I don't know what is going on yet.

I also have a DeskJet 940c and when I select that printer it lets me change the bottom margin to .459. What model Deskjet do you have?

    Hi ruralguy,
I did another report, using the design wizard, and it still came out with 9 rows. After reading the other idea from you (about the specific printer), I changed the printer to another one I have. I only use this other one for pictures, as it's a photosmart one. But, the good thing about it, when I change to that printer, I'm able to change the margins. It prints slower, but it allows 10 rows of labels, which is what I was after all along.

Don't know why my main one, the Deskjet 5440, doesn't allow me to change margins. Maybe it's getting 'old' (two years??).

It looks like I may have to buy another printer for my computer; one I can use on a regular basis, printing labels, reports or emails. At least, that's the plan now.

I thank you for your ideas and help.

Have you experimented with other HP drivers for that printer? It sounds like both of your printers are for photos so maybe try the other driver on this printer.

I believe it to be a bug in the driver for the printer and I doubt HP will fix it. They seem to have the "buy a new printer" approach for some problems lately. Here's two HP links that suggest trying the 990c driver for a similar problem on other printers. It might be worth a try to experiment a little. Good Luck.
