Calculation is off by a few cents...

Is there a setting that I need to change to get a total to give me the correct $ amount?

If I add the amounts from my report (which is correct), it is different from what the report calculates. It has to be exact for this report with no rounding up or down.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanx!

Exact to a computer is sometimes a difficult concept!

How are the controls on your report formatted? If they are all currency then what you describe should be impossible!

    Jule,

Any time you use floating point arithmetic and then constrain the number of significant digits that are shown, you run the risk of things not tying out exactly.

    1) How many decimal places are shown in the report?

    2) Are you using true floating point operations?

    Hi Patrick,

I am using 2 decimal points.

What is "true floating point operations"?

    Thanks!
    Jule
