Default parameters which slow down an Access Database linked tables

My apologies if this sounds a little vague...

I recall reading somewhere (fairly recently) about a parameter or property in Access which is "On" by default and allows a form/query to identify when backend table field names or query arguments are changed and automatically looks for and "fixes" the renamed link. By leaving this switched ON, the database is slower than it could be. The db speed performance can be can be improved significantly by switching this 'feature' off.

Now this might be only vaguely true, but I know I'm close.... Does this ring a bell with anyone and if so, can you point me in a direction. (i.e. Name of the property)

Yep, I have to admit it.... Essentially... I just don't know what I'm talking about.... !

I'm not on a PC right now, but I think you're referring to Name Autocorrect which I think is on the Current tab in Access Options. I always turn it off, as it's notoriously buggy.

No problem. There are a number of performance thoughts here, including that one:

Have I left you hanging on anything? I have this feeling I have.
