Text in text box repeats itself in multiple fields! help!

I am building a database through access 2003 and have included a text box labeled "comments" in my design view. Now when i go to input information in the "comments" column in the datasheet view, the same text will appear for every entry. If I try to change the text in the next row, it will automatically switch all of the previous "comment" text to whatever I have entered. How do I fix this???

It sounds like the textbox is not bound to a field in the table (no control source).

Yes i believe you are right. So i found the control source and there is nothing in this box. Do i have to create text in the "expression builder"?

Well, if you expect to have record-specific comments, Access needs to be able to save the comment with the record. Do you have a comments field in the table? The textbox would normally be bound to that.

So I have multiple text boxes in this particular database. They all have the correct control source and work just fine when inputing text and/or numbers. The "comment (text)" box was created within a tab box. When i attempt to link it to a control source, the comment option does not come up, but I can see all of the other options that are on my table. I am lost. Ah. Would a screen shot help? Thanks for your help

A screen shot of design view or the db itself would help, yes.

You can't scroll down to Comments? What happens if you just type it in as the control source?

It's not in a subform is it? Can you post the db here?

Unfortunately I cant post the DB on here. But it is in a 'tab control' box. I inserted the text box into this 'tab control' box. Would that have anything to do with it?

Shouldn't, but something is odd. What does the form look like in form view? It looks to be in single view, but you describe something different.

ID:	8178 here is the form view. As you can see, the text box is inside a tab

Is there actually a field in the table for comments? Is the form bound to the table or a query?
