Question run-time error 70 when importing text files from software

    Hi all,

i have a simple db consiting of only one table, used to store data from a reflow oven.
the reflow oven comes with its own software that records data every 5 minutes and stores it as a text file.
using the Import Text File function on access, i import the text files as delimited text data into the table.

everything works fine, but i would like to be able to view the data in Real Time.
if the table is open at the 5 minute mark, a run time error 70 appears, Permission denied.

what i wanted to do is have a query pull info from the table, dump it into a form that would be set for datasheet view.
i tried this, still get the error even if the table and query is closed.

any suggestions as what i can do to alleviate this problem?

    thanks so much,
    mj

I don't think this applies to you (DCOM) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distrib...t_Object_Model

I was checking for links to discussions of Error 70. I don't know if any apply to your issue.

Do you think the software might have something to do with this issue?
i have another db that receives data from a LabView program, and i can open the table, queries, anything tied to it and it still dumps information into the table. Given, the db are used in different computers.

Could be. I haven't had the issue so I have no first hand knowledge. I just googled for the error and passed on some links.
