    Parameter Value

I am a brand new and untrained, Access user and set up a "contact" database. Things were going well, however, I deleted a few fields that I didn't need. Now,when I attempt to "quick search" the database, I get the "Enter Parameter Value" pop-up box. In design view, I see three green triangle problem indicators in the fields: Job Title, County/Region, Category box. These are the fields that I previously deleted. The roll-over message on these fields says: Invalid Control Source. My wish is to get back to the default configuration. Thank you

    To clarify.

You have a database for contacts.

You initially setup a Table, and from the sounds of thing, a form.

You used it, discovered you don't need three fields and deleted them from the table.

Now you open the form and get a [job title], [county/region], [category] prompts for a parameter value.

    Cause:

You deleted fields from the table

    Resolution:

    Either:
input the fields into the table in design view again
    or
Delete the controls on the form

    Reason:
The invalid control source is because that textbox (control) cannot find a field in the recordsource (the source table/query) with a matching name. Thus when you open it, access gives you the chance to manually input a value.

    Resolution Question

    Thank you for your reply.
I am an absolute novice-I think returning the table to default mode would be best.
You suggested restoring the fields in Design View. I don't know how to do that. I know how to get to design view. If you have suggestions as to what I need to do from there, I would much appreciate it.

You add the fields back into the TABLE in design view
    I.E
    Field Field type Description
Job Title Text The persons job description
county/region Text The area they live in
category Text Where I know someone from

I don't use access 2007 but a quick google search revealed:
