Form To Table - To Many Cells

    Good Day,

I am new to design and build, I have a draft beginning of a dbase I need assistance with.

I have an RFP Form which has a time and schedule tab on it. This has many cells which result in many columns. I need to maintain this as I have set it up, but I am vying towards having a seperate table for each section of the form. Every RFP we create will have these records associated with it as it part of our process tracking.

What is the best deisgn for the form to capture all the data I have on it for each section? Over 260 cells to populate. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Lou

The tblRFPInfo has a field for Vendors that is set as text type. The primary key field in tblVendors is autonumber. This is a mismatch of data types. Same for the Vendor field in tblNDAapproval. This must be resolved before any data entry can be done. Once that is done, consider use of form/subform arrangement. Review http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...101872705.aspx

Why is vendor in both tblRFPInfo and tblINDAapproval?

The tblVendors has autonumber ID field as primary key but there is also a VendorID field that is number type. VendorID Indexed propety is set as Yes(Duplicates OK) - this should be Yes(No Duplicates). Id attributes like VendorID often are really a text value, such as SSN, phone number, property number, VIN. 'Real world' ids are often a mix of alpha-numeric but even if only digits but are really not a number type value, not in the sense that a quantity value is a number.

    June7,

Thank you, I have created the subforms and made the needed changes. I have a question though. On the subforms I have a start date and end date for each row created, I want to prepopulate the start date with the ending date of the previous row. How can I achieve this?

    Regards,

    LouM

Don't really have to. It is possible to retrieve the value from previous record in queries. It is tricky but doable.

What you asked for requires VBA code. Review: http://allenbrowne.com/ser-24.html
