    Sort by month then day


    I have a table with first name and last name and date of birth, I want to create a report with the sort to be month and then day of birth. I can create the query but I need the expression for the sort of month and then the day. please help.

    How about Format([YourDate],"mmdd")?

    The harder way to do this is to add two fields to your query:

    Sort_Month: Format([date_of_birth],"m")
    Sort_Day: Format([date_of_birth],"d")
    You can then use the sorting and grouping options on the report design view to complete the task to your satisfaction.
