    Database Login Issue

    Hello Everyone,
Hopefully someone will be able to help me with a small problem I am having. I just finished a rather large database that I have been working on over the past several months and just went through and set up the security permissions. Right now I have the tables linked on the network and I distribute the front end database to all the users. The problem is, once they copy the front end from the network to their desktop, the file is no longer joined to the workgroup information file on the network, all permissions are dropped, and the user has Admin access until I manually join them onto the workgroup. I read somewhere to set up the password for the admin user and deny the user all rights, but that didnt work either. Below were the steps that I took to set up my permissions. Did I end up missing a step somewhere? This is my first time setting up security over a network with linked tables so any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

    1. Created the workgroup
    2. Set up my User and Group Accounts
    3. Assigned Users to their Associated Group
    4. Assigned Group Permissions
    5. Assigned All User Passwords
    6. Assigned a password to the Admin User
    7. Denied all permissions to the Admin User

    Hello Everyone,
Ok, I think I came up with a solution but have run into a slight road block. My idea was to create a macro that launches on startup of the database and automatically joins the workgroup. I have already created the macro to join the workgroup, however, once the workgroup is joined, Access closes the database. The problem with this is that if the macro launches on start up of the database, the database will never open. Is there any way to tell the macro not to run if the database is already joined to the appropriate workgroup?

    Thanks in advance!
    Jason
