Table field will not allow data entry says item not on list (Don't know of any list)

I have a table it has ClassID, ClassType

When I add a new class to classID it lets me do that fine.

However when I attempt to add classType I get error message Item not on list.
Yet the item that it says is not on list is already used with other ClassId and works fine.

This is the only table that has a + sign in the first column. I don't klnow why it is there.

The + sign means there is a child table with related records. Click it and the related records will display.

You are doing data entry in tables, not forms?
