    multi user

I am making a booking app with access and when it is finished I want to run it from a server so that 3 users can use it at once. Is that hard. what do I have to do and what software do I need on the server?

    Thanks

    The application should be split:

You don't need any software on the server. There are all kinds of methods to automate distribution of new front ends.

You can share an Access database from server to 3 users by two methods:

Split database: Through this method, every user gets their own copy of the front-end access database.

Network folder: It is a simple method & has least functionality. In this method, database file is stored on a shared network drive and user can use the database file simultaneously.

You can take more idea about these methods from here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...010279159.aspx

I would strongly caution against the shared file. You run a serious risk of corruption among other things, which that link implies. If you go that way, you'd best have an aggressive backup plan.
