Hi,
I think I may have bumped into a limitation of Access, or maybe I'm just being stupid.
I have a report, which horizontally lists denominations of money (floats) which are stored in a similar underlying table. I don't have a total field because I want access to work that out when one of the amounts is changed, hence I've added a further tectbox to the right of my horizontal list, named txtTotal.
Then, I've added one more textbox in the report footer and set the control source to =Sum([txtTotal]). When I run the report, acc3ess falls over asking me what txtTotal is, and whatever I put in there, it multiplies by the number of records in the table. I have no idea why, or what I'm doing wrong. Can someone help me, or can Access just not handle summing a calculated control?
Cheers,
Mike
