From command button creating a record in another table

Please help. I’m finding it difficult to find the best way to achieve what I want from the help available from within Access and I’m new to programing in this environment.


Background of what I’m trying to achieve. The database is for foraging where we have tables for Sites that are used and Products that can be picked. A third table Site-Product has a composite primary key made up of the Site and Product ID’s to handle the many to many relationships of products and sites. There is a fourth table for Picking records that contains the Site-Products to be picked on a day with the date amount to be picked etc. The primary key for this record is a standard auto generated number ID field.
On a form based on the Site-Product table I want a command button that will create a Picking record for the selected record transferring the Site and Product ID’s from the selected record together with the current date.
