Link SQL Database to new Access front end

I have an old database that was running on Access 2000-2003 that had one table linked to the SQL server. The main part that I needed the sql server for was the OLE data attached to a individual documents. Now I have updated the database into a 2007-2010 version, with newer forms, reports, queries and macros. The one main table that is on the sql server I only added two new fields which is to become the _local. My problem is do I need to upsize to "use database" to attach it to the sql table, or the linked table manager? The linked table manager is greyed out and I have not had to use it before, so I am unfamiliar with it. What are you suggestions?

If the linked table manager is grayed out it normally means you do not have any linked tables in your database so there is no reason to manage them. you probably need to create a new link and link the SQL Server table.

I had to play for quite a while today! It did not work with the import ODBC, all that did was download the whole SQL database into my new database putting me way over the 2gb limit! So I tried to upsize to SQL server to connect into the pre-exisiting SQL database but no one could find the dsn name on the server. So after a lot of playing around, I had it create a new table from my table into the sql server. Once it created the new linked table I went to the linked table manager and selected ask for location, and changed the location of where the linked table was looking at into my old sql database table. It connected quickly after that, and after a lot of bug checking I have had no problems with it!
