    Object variable...Jesus!

    Help!
I have a form on my database, just a simple old thing i knocked up in design view, not linked to any tables or queries, and a few weeks ago i added a command button onto it no problem. I've just come to try and add another but when i select the button to add it on to the form it comes up with the following error "Object Variable or With block variable not set".
I've asked others what this means and how to fix it and they just shake their head with commiseration as if it was the first symptom of the plague and suggest my DB is screwed.

I'm totally stupid when it comes to databases - is there any layman's advice anyone can give on how to resolve???

Your Databases are separate files from Access. Reinstalling Access will not impact existing databases. You will need to update Access from Microsoft again to apply any updates. In the Add or Remove dialog there should be a Change/Uninstall button next to Access. Push the button and go for the Repair Install. You can even uninstall Access without impacting your existing databases.

Try creating a new db and import everything into the new db. Sometimes this can resolve the issue you mentioned. You might start by importing all *but* the latest form you were working on first to see what happens. Then bring in the latest form.

    Have you tried searching Microsoft?
    How about trying a /decompile?
