Old DB 2000 version not working in 2007 version

I am a new database user and have a older version (2000) access database I used to worked on. When I opened in newer version (2007), when I clicked on the switchboard to add data, an error message appears stating that there was an error executing the command. What can I do to make this older database work again? Please hlep

In general, you should be able to open your Access 2000 .mdb file with Access 2007. Perhaps there is some reference issue.

First, what is the exact text of the error message you see?

Second, open the .mdb, open any module in design mode and click Tools > References. Remove any references that are not needed. Check for any "MISSING:" references, and remove them if not needed, or replace them with updated libraries.

    Thanks for the response.

I can open up to the database to the switchboard but once I can on the switchboard item I get the error dialogue box of "There was an error executing the command". When I open the database tool to look at the "Relationships" there was no tables or any types of relationship indicated.

I search the database directory and found all excel tables that contains information of the records needed for the applications. I cannot use link the tables.

Is this an .mde or .accde file? are you using the runtime version of Access?

Are macros enabled? If not, enable them.

You will need the source .mdb file to do any debugging.
