    Table Indexes

    Hi All

    Using Access 2007

Need to group trades on a single table that share certain characteristics together into a single sales opportunity and need to create a SalesOppertunity ID and assign it to these trades.

Had thought to create and index using the relevant fields which seems to group them OK but I want this index to be visible so I can count the number of unique opportunities and compare against number of trades etc etc

    Help would be appreciated

I'm not sure what you need but indexing tables has *nothing* to do with grouping, sorting and searching yes but not grouping.

    Thanks RG

Yeah realised that after a bit more digging - went with building a composite key by concatenating 5 fields together
