auto fill data form whenever data is match with previous saved data

    For example:

Database with ID(primary key), contact no, address and order detail.

Customer will quote order by contact no, what if duplicate contact no key in, the database will auto detect that's exist and auto populate to certain field like address, contact person...

so that, we could know this is repeated order by customer.

    contact no address order type
9995555 Seng kang road hi tea
    5656566 pandai avenue lunch
9995555 --> data match! address & order type will auto fill, then we notice this is repeat order by same contact no.

May not a good practise to create customer libaray file, since our business nature are buffet catering, we just need to key in single row of record and print out schedule.

    Thanks for your advise.

More than one way to approach this.

Could have combobox with RowSource of ContactNo. If contactNo exists, select from list, if not, add new contact.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
