Count IF Text Box for Dashboard

I want to create a dashboard for an Access DB using a function similar to a "CountIfS" in Excel. I have a number of servers in a CMDB-like table and want to know how many of them are Wintel, Unix, Linux, etc by what department they are assigned to. I want all this information in one report and to have the statistics dynamic so I can update the DB and not have to rebuild the fields every time.

So I want (in words): "Count # of [Server Name] IF [OS] EQUALS 'Windows' AND [Business Function] EQUALS 'Finance'"

I'm not sure exactly what the code looks like for the text box control though. =Count[Server Name] IIF ([OS]="Windows" and [Business Function]="Finance"? Is that anywhere close?

    Many thanks.

look up the DCount function. It'll be something to the effect of:
    =DCount("FieldName", "TableName", "Criteria")

DCount works fine if there are only a couple of them. If you plan on having a bunch of stats using any of the D function (DLookup, DCount, DMax, etx) then it will really slow down your dashboard.
