Opening up a form to a default value

Hi

I am setting up a database where on the Switchboard, you choose a surname from a combo box and click a command button.

Depending on your choice, you go into another form showing specific date for that surname. within this form there is a combo box with a series of year ends from 2009/2010 to 2019/2020.



Now each time I come into this form, no matter who the surname is, I need it to always show 2009/2010.

At the moment, if i go in and put some data in for 2017/2018, when i come out and go back in, it displays 2017/2018 still, when I want it to revert to 2009/2010, which is the first year on the list.

Or if it could show the current year, that would be also good.

Any help or advice?

Have you tried...

...On the form in design view, right-click the text box or whatever it is and go to "Properties", this will open the properties window, on this window go to the "Data" tab and in the "Default Value" box type in what you want the default value to be.

This would be my first suggestion, if this doesn't work just say and I will help with another solution.

Not that didnt work,

I tried 2008/2009 and ="2008/2009".

But when I change the combo box in the form to 2010/2011, closed the form and opened it again, it still said 2010/2011.

Any other ideas?
