    Database in SQL format?

I inherited a big project at work that is Access 2010 using SQL server 2008 R2. I purchased Access 2010 for my home computer so I could work on the program at home. The problem is that the program won't start because Access can't open the database. I think its SQL format? I don't quite understand what the SQL server is...

Is there a way to get this database compatible so I can work on my home computer.

    Thanks.

    1. If Access 2010 uses SQL Server 2008 R2 at work then the backend is in SQL Server and you would need to install SQL Server 2008 R2 (You might be able to use SQL Server 2008 R2 Express if the database files don't exceed the 10 Gb max of Express). But you would

    2. Need to get a copy of the MDF and LDF files from SQL Server and then attach them to your installation at home of SQL Server/SQL Server Express.
