Auto setting according to system time

Hi, I was wondering if it were possible to have a setting in a form, that changes according to the system clock? For example, the setting would be "Shift-First part" for anything done on Sunday. Then as Monday morning comes change the setting to "Shift-Second half". I am setting up a database to track information for employees who a day shift, a swing shift, and a grave shift. My only problem is querying the data for the shifts when the time transitions from one day to the other. I dont know how to differentiate pulling the data. I can only think of adding a setting that would mark each entry specifically for the part of the shift. Does this make sense?

You could use the Timer function of the form and since the resolution is not tight, just fire it maybe every 5 minutes.

Do you know how to write code? Setting the Timer to other than 0 in milliseconds (1000 to the second) enables the Timer event.

On the timer interrupt just check the time of day and set the shift value control accordingly.
