    Angry Linked Table Problem

So I have used the google and searched these forums and I just can't find anything. Presumably it's because I'm dense and the answer is right in front of my face so there's no need for the rest of the world to address it.

To unlink tables, one must simply delete the table. Don't worry, though! You're only deleting the link and not the data, says Access and the Internet.

Cool. I really need that data.

Then I delete a linked table and it disappears.

What the hell am I missing?

    Hi
All you have deleted is the "Link" to the table. The table still exists in the db that it was in. All you need to do is create a link to the table again.
In A2003 click File, Get External Data, Link Tables.
Navigate to and double click the db that has the table and then select the required table.
If this helped, please click the star at the bottom left of this posting and add to my reputation . Many thanks.

    Thanks, Bob.

Someone who is no longer here created this thing and trying to figure out how it's all set up (with limited Access experience) is proving to be mighty difficult.

    I'm tempted to just re-do everything :|

I'm wondering now if it's split (whatever that really means), but I am only aware of one database file on the server that everyone accesses via a shortcut on their computers. This sort of led me to believe it wasn't.

Oh well. Looks like I have more googling to do.

    Thanks again for your help.
