    Red face Access Calendar Control

    Goal: Volunteer ID has several dates with comments. I want to be able to click on the date (from the calendar control) and see the comment written for that day. I have attached the code that was placed for the calendar control (is in a notepad file). In the code: I tried including a Dlookup command to bring up the comment information regarding that day, but it did not work. Please Help!!

    Table 1 (created to test the calendar):

    ID(which is the volunteer ID)
    Vol_Date (Date)
    Comments (notes of that day)

    Name of the main form: is "form5"
    Name of the subform: is "form4"

    Your code does not make a lot of sense to me but have you tried:
    Vol_Date = #" & Vol_Date & "#"

    Do you think it will work if I with this code:

    Private Sub Comments_AfterUpdate()
    Vol_Date.Visible = True
    Vol_Date.SetFocus
    If Not IsNull(Comments) Then
    Vol_Date.Value = Comments.Value
    Else
    Vol_Date.Value = Date <-----I don't know about the "Date" part.
    End If

    Please let me know if I'm not completely lost

    Please don't take this wrong but is there a reason you would rather ask a question than just plug in the code and give it a go?

    I believe that you only want to view or see the comments for your chosen date.

    You have already created your table for that right, then it is enough.

    first make your first form which is the main form.
    put in your main form a subform and a combobox.

    the combobox will replace your calendar control now. the combobox's control source now is bound to your table's dates.

    the subform recordsource will be your table 1 and the subform will only have one textbox for bound to comment field of your table.

    after doing this all, you may enter the link child/master fields to vol_date.

    this is one way you can do that. try and let us know what's the progress.

    I believe it is time to zip up your db and attach it here so we can look at it. Remove any sensitive data of course.
