    Validation Rule

I have created a form in my database to input information. I want to be able to create a validation rule that lets the user know if the information they input in a particular field already exists.

For example, I have a 'Property Ref' field and each property has a unique reference. I want the form to give an error message if they input a reference that has already been used.

Edit: i just realised I put this in the wrong section, I apologise but do not know how to move it from here.

In the property section (Indexed) for the field in your table, set it to "no duplicates."

Ah, so simple, yet so effective.

    Thank you
