I use a DB in two computers or I should say I want to.
Both computers run windows 7.
I copied my DB to the new computer and I can not open a table nd related form.
Any reason why this could happen when it works OK in original computer?

Did u check the ODBC connection on the new computer?
explain please
The backend where the data is actually stored is accessed through an ODBC connection from your computer. If you have just copied your DB to a new computer and not established the ODBC connection to the same backend (as in the first case) from your new computer, then it will not work. Open Access, go to External Data. There you will find the option to either import from/link to an ODBC Database. HTH.
So what should I do first. I will delete all files I copied in new computer.
Can you post the exact error message that you are getting?
Also, what is the backend that you use?
Not that you wouldn't know, but the important thing I would suggest is, back up all your data first, before you try to experiment with it.
Go through this: http://www.brighthub.com/computing/w...les/74858.aspx
p.s: I assumed you have a SQL Server backend. If otherwise, do post the details.
Paul and Alan have helped me out with my question. Am sure theres many more like them here to help you with your problem.

I used a DB from Microsoft Press - "ACCESS 2007 Inside Out".
CONTACTs DB to be exact and modified it for my company.
Never had SQL or Backend or Frontend.
Where is ODBC and how can I find out where it is so I can copy.
I created a BE and FE. Copied the FE to new computer and used linked table manager to direct to BE.
This works fine now. As long as I'm connected to the home network.
What if I'm at another office? How can I run DB?
Glad its working out for you for now.
When you are at a different office, what you normally do is to take remote access to the network on which the DB is present through the 'Remote Desktop Connection' feature. This is available through the 'Accessories' from the start menu. You need to know your Domain name and User credentials for this beforehand. You might want to ask your IT administrator/technician for these specs if you are not aware of them.
Once you are connected to the system on the network, you can now access the DB from your current computer. HTH.
for now I will consider this solved.
Thanks
