filter query by programming

how i can filter my query by programming?i want to filter one of field in my query by programming,without showing the query.

How are you going to collect the crtieria? through a form, through user input with a pop up box? And what are you doing with the query afterward? Are you displaying it in a form, using it as a datasource for a report? This is a very, very generic question with a lot of possible answers and it's hard to give you direction without more information.
