Why does my percentage field automatically display 0.00%

I have a table with one field with data type number, field size decimal, and format percent. I enter a number I want like 3.47 and it stores it fine without rounding or anything. However I'm very perplexed why it automatically displays 0.00% first before you enter anything, and if you decide to leave the form blank it displays 0.00% instead of a null value.

Is there any way to fix this?

    Hi

When you create a number field access sets its default value to 0(Zero).
If you remove this it will display new records a null.

But with every other number field in my table, the record remains null until you enter a number for the record. The only exception is the percentage field.

Have you removed the "0" from the "Default Value" property for this field?
