    close form without saving changes to layout of table

    I have a form called "edititem" that contains a subform table.item. When the user makes a change in the data of the table, it is reflected in the item table.

    However, if they (for example) sort the table on a field in that table, I do not want this layout change to be made. On closing the form, the message
    "Do you want to save changes to the design of table item?" come up. The close button I have says this:

    Me.Dirty = False
    DoCmd.OpenForm "switchboard", DataMode:=acFormReadOnly
    DoCmd.Close acForm, "edititem", acSaveNo

    Is there some what I can stipulate that the table layout is not to be saved? I am afraid that my users will try and save the layout changes.

    Thanks

    I have never seen this message when closing a form. Sorting and filtering a subform should not affect the source table/query, at least never has in my experience. Can you make project available?
