    Question mysql connecting help....

    I am trying to connect ms access 2003 payroll with mysql server but I am getting some error
    Please help to solve this problem.
    1. What I should write in the DATA SOURCE NAME (DSN) text? ( I just trying with only one pc, there is no connected pc)
    2. What I should write in the TCP/IP SERVER text ? ( I am using single pc only)

    you mean the DSN FILE?

    and what do you mean the TCP/IP text?

    regarding the above, are you talking about the actual textboxes that are in the ODBC connection dialog form (wizard) inside of access?

    and what is some error? I doubt there's a solution page anywhere on the internet for that error number.

    as far as connection is concerned, first of all you have to download the mysql ODBC driver and install it. I believe the most recent one is still 5.1. see: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/

    And in terms of the mysql credentials for the odbc wizard, see: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/...th-access.html
