I'm *very* new to access. I'm trying to create an app that will allow me to keep track of my workstations. I have more then 300 desktop PC's, and it's very hard to keep track of them and there service history.

I've completed all the tables that I need, along with the forms and sub forms that I need. I have one last part that I'm missing.

Each of the workstations have a record, along with data in other tables. I want to put a text box at the top of the main form that I can simply scan a bar code and the workstations record will show up. (bar code is a 10 digit number followed by a carriage return)

I had thought this would be a simple thing to do, but I can't find any info on how to do it! I even just bought "Microsoft Access 2003 Inside Out" by MS Press and that didn't help me.

Can someone here point me in the right direction?
