    Access Newbie

Hi I am new to access. I use verison 2003. I need to create a database for work to keep track of registrations i receive. There is one that is already created, is there a way to delete the information so i can leave fields the same and enter information for this year or do i need to start over. I really don't know what to do.

You should be able to. In most of my databases I have a main data table which I base all my queries, and reports from. Each fiscal year I make a copy of the previous year rename it and then delete the data to start over. It depends on how it's set up but you should have no problems. I would recommend backing up the main database on a disk or flash drive, "seperate from your computer." Only because sometime they remain linked and the changes sometime carry over. As long as you back it up and work on a copy you can't hurt anything. Good luck!

I would recommend copying the table you wish to delete information from and rename it 2010Data, that way you still have access to it. Then delete all of the information on the the original table and continue using it.
